Ago is an experimental typeface resulting from a combination of the geometric and modular shapes typically found in bitmap images with the more organic and sinuous structures peculiar to English and Scottish calligraphic typefaces of the 19th century.

The traditional calligraphic elements of Didone and Roman classifications such as connections, bracketed serifs, and rhythm are used as a base for the systematic construction of a modular grid, whose fundamental units are the pixel and the line. Characterized by high contrast, vertical stress, pot-hook serifs, and an italic geometric composition, Ago is the result of contrasting opposite aesthetics of the digital bitmap revolution, like glitch art, and the Victorian era.

By combining pixels and lines, rigidity and sinuosity, modular and organic, the typeface opens a dialogue between the old and the new, the digital and the analogue, the dot and the surface, aiming to create a dialogic unity between different historical periods.
